Matthew fink obituary1/19/2024 ![]() ![]() She never finished high school, opting to get married and start her family. She encouraged us kids to play sports and tried to make each and every game. ![]() She worked the concession stand at Volunteers Field to many times to count. She found time for all of this and still was an ever attentive Mom to us all. She was one of the founders of the annual Halloween parade and the Corn Fest. ![]() She served on community council and was an active member of the democratic committee. She was also an active member of the Carrick Community. She was passionate about kids, education and neighborhood schools. The caveat was that the job would not be a paid position. Mom was an integral part of changing the PGH School Board from an appointed position to an elected position. He and Terry recently celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary but eternity could not separate them for long as he passed away only eight days after she did. He was a faith formation teacher and active volunteer at his parish. He was noted for his poppy seed bread, popcorn balls, fish fries, salsa, sauerkraut, wine and more. He enjoyed his family and friends through their faith study club and grew his culinary skills around the family kitchen table. He worked as a carpenter for William Kranz, Inc. Gene’s vocation was caring for his wife, their eight children, and raising them in the Catholic faith. He was united in marriage to Terry on May 22nd, 1954 at Our Lady of Lourdes in Northeast Minneapolis. He served his country during the Korean War as a Sargeant in field communications. He met his future spouse, Marie Thérèse (Terry) Kennedy before he was drafted into the U. After high school, he attended the Catholic Minor Seminary in St. He graduated from grammar school at Sacred Heart School in Robbinsdale, and later Robbinsdale High School in 1948. Eugene Andrew “Gene” Fink, age 88 of Crystal, MN passed away peacefully at JA Wedum Residential Hospice in Brooklyn Park, surrounded by his loving family.Įugene Andrew Fink was born Jin Minneapolis, MN to Andrew and Helen (Wachtler) Fink. ![]()
